Tags

Tags are fundamental building blocks for how TunedGlobal segments and surfaces catalogue content. Every shelf on a home page, artist page, or editorial collection is driven by a tag — a short string that operators assign in the back-office CMS to group stations, artists, albums, songs, playlists, podcasts, and audiobooks into curated collections.

How tags work

Tags are short strings (e.g. summer-hits) that operators assign to catalogue items in the back-office CMS. When the app needs to populate a home-page shelf, it calls a tag endpoint with that string and receives back the matching items in real time — no deploys or code changes required.

The same tag system powers recommendation engines, personalised discovery feeds, and artist content pages, making tags the invisible connective tissue between editorial curation and the end-user listening experience.
